Model L78-D

Lloyd's L78-D Behind-The-Ear hearing aid is the smallest BTE aid we offer. This hearing aid is good for mild to moderate degrees of hearing loss. What sets it apart from some of our other hearing aids is the fact that is equipped with dual microphones. With two mics a hearing aid becomes capable of detecting the directionality of sounds. Voices and sounds located in front of a person will be more accentuated. Sounds to your side and rear will be more diminished. Generally speaking, a person is more focused on what they are looking at, and this hearing aid helps enhance that focus.

The L78-D is a basic conventional analog hearing aid and uses the size #13 battery. This hearing aid features a volume control as well as an M-T-O switch (microphone/telephone/off). The middle position of the switch is a special setting for telephone use. Another nice feature of the L78-D hearing aid is the two adjustment trimpots of tone and AGC (automatic gain control). The tone control makes the hearing aid become either more "full bodied" of a sound (more bass) or else more high-frequency. We use this hearing aid quite a bit for moderate high-frequency hearing losses. The AGC control will dampen down loud sounds, keeping the user in their comfortable listening zone. The manual trimpots are easily accessed and simple to adjust should a person desire to do some of their own fine tuning adjustments (although we do preset the hearing aid for an individual's hearing loss according to the information provided). Everything needed to wear this hearing aid right out of the box is included at no extra charge. There is a one year warranty on the L78-D hearing aid.

Model L78-D Reviewed by JOHN P HOFFMANN on May, 07 2006 Model L78-D I HAD BEEN WEARING AN AID IN MY RIGHT EAR AND I WAS ADVISED BY A MR.ANDY IN YOUR AUDIOGRAM DEPARTMENT TO TRY A MODEL L78-D. I FIND IT TO BE WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. IT WORKS IN BOTH EARS SO I AM ORDERING ANOTHER ONE. 5
Model L78-D Reviewed by Betty D. Kemick on April, 22 2006 Model L78-D I have been using Model 180 in my right ear and have lost it several times, had one chewed up by dog and it falls out, have had molds made but new one did the same. My left aid fits like a dream no problem at all, so I feel behind the ear is the way to go for my right ear. 5
Model L78-D Reviewed by Frank Duncanson V on January, 27 2006 Model L78-D I originally bought the L-78 as a backup hearing aid for my more expensive set for times that I would be active with my actives from scouting/Emergency Disaster Services team. They have been so good that I have made them my main hearing aid for daily use. They have been in some very extreme environments and they held their own. Some of the places I taken them to are North rim of the Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Zion, Yosemite National Park, Backpacking to the top of several Mountain like San Gorgonio and Coness and have not had an issue. They have also been on many emergency calls and drills and have performed wonderfully in very adverse conditions. Probably the toughest was as a volunteer for hurricane Katrina. The high temp and humidity conditions of NOLA after the storm with basic shelter living and heavy physical working conditions for hours each day would have killed my expensive set after the 2nd day. These are solid hearing aids that can take a real beating. Lloyds have helped to help others. Thanks everyone. 5
