Body Aids (Body worn Aids) Hearing Aids
Body Worn Hearing Aids were the first model of a hearing aid. With the enhancements in technology these hearing aids are rarely used. Body aid hearing aids have an ear mold that is connected to cord which connects to the case that contains the amplification components. Normall worn in a pocket or connected to a belt the body aid hearing aids are about the size of a pack of playing cards. Due to body aid hearing aids larger size, they are capable of larger amounts of amplification and were commonly used for profound hearing losses. Body aid hearing aids have been almost completely replaced by BTE (behind the ear hearing aids).
